The film cuts to film of a group of women seated around a table all busy at their needlework - one woman turns to the camera and says "Why not get together with your friends and form a "Make Do And Mend Group" and you can all help each other". The mother does not know how to make these clothes and the commentary advises her to ask at the Technical Institute or to look for a local "Make Do And Mend Group".
